The Conservation, Restoration & Scientific Imaging Department at the Fabrique de Patrimoines in Normandy is opening its doors to the public on an exceptional basis.
You will be able to find out about our work in preventive conservation, and visit the restoration workshop and the scientific imaging studio.
We will explain our role in supporting heritage institutions and private individuals in preserving their collections.
You will gain an understanding of the methods and ethical principles that guide our work in restoring easel paintings.
And you will be able to view heritage objects as you have never seen them before, thanks to our scientific imaging tools.
In keeping with the theme ‘Heritage at Risk’, an online gallery available at collections.musees-normandie.fr will complement the tour by showcasing restored works from museums in Normandy through before-and-after views and images produced using scientific imaging techniques
