São Paulo, the 1980s… Noboru has to prepare a school presentation on his Japanese heritage, which he has always tried to hide. He is forced to turn to his grumpy grandfather, Hideo, to learn more about his family and the story of how his grandfather arrived in Brazil in 1920, when he was still a young man.

Suitable for all ages. Running time: 1 hour 22 minutes. Refreshments will be served after the screening.

What is Ciné-Relax?

Going to the cinema, a concert, the opera or the theatre: an everyday activity which, for some, seems impossible or becomes an ordeal. The Relax scheme makes culture accessible and inclusive to people who are otherwise deprived of it due to their disability (people with autism, multiple disabilities, intellectual or cognitive disabilities, mental health conditions, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.). Relax screenings and performances offer a caring and welcoming environment where everyone, with or without a disability, is welcomed and respected just as they are.
