“Plastic Fishing” workshop

Come and collect and analyse litter from the banks of the River Orne to take part in research into aquatic pollution!

Have you heard of the 7th continent? This plastic monster in the Pacific Ocean is six times the size of France and highlights a global problem: aquatic waste pollution. It’s everywhere: in towns, in the countryside and… on the banks of the River Orne.

Led by Cedre, the National Network for Monitoring Macro-Waste on the Coast collects and analyses waste from coastlines and river basins to combat this phenomenon by informing European policies on the treatment and management of marine litter. This workshop invites you to collect litter from the banks of the River Orne so that it can be analysed and contribute to the network’s work. During the workshop, you’ll have the chance to see first-hand the litter that has washed ashore or been carried by the sea near where you live.
