Part 1: La Funfare
Vincent DESGRIPPES, Conductor
OctOpus is like an acrobatic octopus that plays music at the same time. Eight tentacled members – and show-offs at that – bound together by a playful urge to surprise one another.
Poetic, dreamlike and zany, a brass band arrives and will leave again… or will it? As for what happens in between, we’ll have to wait and see. Depending on the audience, the venue and the moment, it’s always different, and everyone will find their own way to ride the wave in a mad series of fanfarographic scenes. A muCIRCale escapade where acrobatic cycling, lifts and balancing acts whirl to the brass-laden, intoxicating and complex music of Rémi Sciuto, a performing artist and composer of this new repertoire. Circa Tsuïca – a cycling brass band (you can’t see a thing at night) – arrives, wanders, turns and weaves with finesse along the thread of the moment.
