An event aimed at families with children as part of the “Les Étonnants Patrimoines” initiative. E.P. tours depart at 10.15 am, 1.45 pm and 3.45 pm on Saturday, and at 10.15 am and 1.45 pm on Sunday. The event is designed to be fun, experiential and sensory for the whole family, for both adults and children (recommended for children aged 8 and over), allowing them to learn whilst having fun! A packed programme! In detail: On arrival, you’ll be welcomed by your hosts, Anna and Johanna, and your guide; we’ll get to know the small tour group, consisting of a maximum of twenty people. We’ll follow a guided tour route including a presentation of the ‘Distelfink’ radar station, its history and its role – all presented in an interactive format suitable for both children and adults – which will lead us straight into the activity. During this interactive session, Anna and Johanna will explain their roles and those of the women who worked at the station in 1944, as well as their daily lives. You’ll then have the chance to try on headgear in private, handle uniforms, equipment and communications gear, and – as a nod to their current profession – receive an introduction to the role of nurses and medical assistants within the army. The family experience will conclude with a short cooperative game for all participants, with a prize for the children! It’s sure to make this visit an unforgettable experience!
