The group: Formed in 2004, Mazel Combo is a collective of around thirty musicians: guitarists, flautists, clarinettists, saxophonists, trumpeters, a double bassist, an accordionist and violinists. Their style is described as a “Norman taraf with fanfare-like accents”. The group’s repertoire ranges from Klezmer to gypsy jazz, including gypsy music and original compositions. Since its inception, around a hundred musicians have been part of the ensemble, which has performed more than 150 times. The group rehearses every Tuesday at 8.00 pm at the MJC de la Guérinière in Caen.
