Flowers and bees engage in a fascinating dialogue that is essential to the proper functioning of our ecosystems. Flowers attract pollinators, whilst bees ensure the reproduction of a large proportion of flowering plants. This cooperative relationship – a genuine partnership in the service of biodiversity – is essential to the balance of nature and to our own future. Whilst some plants may evolve to self-pollinate, they remain the exception: without pollinators, many ecosystems would be under serious threat.
