Show: “Beyond All Measure”

In a museum, three solitary figures meet in the shadow of Caravaggio’s works and other Italian Renaissance paintings. Elsa Agnès weaves her narrative into a haunting trio that hovers on the fringes of the world, as if outside of time, yet caught up in Venice’s inevitable rising waters. Between the prosaic nature of the vending machine and the dark power of the paintings, Violaine, Marie and Giovanni cross paths and grow closer. What if the paintings were watching them more than the other way round? Between minimalism and lyricism, the trivial and the absurd, these suspended beings collide in this pictorial vertigo before setting off again, changed, into the flow of their respective lives.
