The play “Mary Stuart”

Between Mary Stuart, Queen of Scotland, held captive, and Queen Elizabeth I of England, the rivalry reaches its climax in this play by Schiller, based on real events. “Mary Stuart” is a political drama of the finest kind, delving into the inner workings of power and the religious stakes of a turbulent era.
