Three friends get together for a working session on a joint project: entering a short film competition. But the meeting doesn’t go at all as planned, and the atmosphere turns sour. The YAUD collective places humour and the absurd at the heart of its approach, turning conflict into material that is as funny as it is relevant. Here, power dynamics and domination – whether in professional, social or friendly contexts – are dissected with all the good-natured ferocity they are capable of. YAUD is a versatile trio of artists based in Caen who delight in scrutinising our petty baseness in mundane everyday situations and work to derail the ordinary so as to better confront us with our familiar strangeness.
Running time: 1 hour 15 minutes. YAUD Collective; concept and performance by Lucan Rahab, Juliette Lamour and Loris Gallo; directed by Lucan Rahab.
