Nour comes from Ustrilie, a faraway country where there is no distinction between masculine and feminine. So moving away is a huge upheaval. Life at her new school requires a fair bit of adjustment. Fortunately, a new friendship pulls our teenager out of her loneliness, as does an invisible and secret companion sheltered in the recesses of her imagination: a beetle. Set against a furry backdrop full of surprises, this thought-provoking show invites us to experience difference and otherness through a unique, gender-neutral language that is at once strange and familiar, reflecting our multiple and ever-changing identities. It celebrates our metamorphoses and the vitality of youth, provides food for thought on the themes explored, and transports the audience into an inventive and fabulous world.
