Bénouville Castle was formerly the ‘Bénouville Maternity Home’. This institution took in thousands of children and generations of unwed mothers who gave birth in secret. This film, a true insight into the plight of women, reveals a little-known chapter in the history of violence against women and ‘bastards’.
