Juste Shani joins Peet on stage at the Club on Friday 25 September for a rap double bill that looks set to be a hit!
PEET
Peet is one of the leading figures of the new Belgian scene and is gradually making his mark in France! A lyricist, singer and beatmaker, he made a name for himself as part of the group Le 77 before striking out on his own. His writing is unique, poetic, sensitive and authentic. He draws inspiration from personal stories with which an entire generation can identify, from the trials and tribulations of city life and real-life experiences.
Project after project, he remains within the realm of urban music, yet has refined his style. With his album *Joyboy*, he returns to his love of instruments, delivering an even more personal, organic album, driven by an ever-more-assertive musical sensibility. It features rich, jazzy sounds, imbued with soul and funk, but also a more pop-oriented and luminous aesthetic than before.
The album’s title comes from One Piece. “I’m a huge fan of that manga. He’s a character who comes to bring order to a world that’s in a mess. I wouldn’t exactly describe myself that way. But he’s someone who’s been through quite a lot.” Literally meaning “happy boy”, Joyboy becomes a metaphor here: finding inner peace, keeping hope alive despite doubts, growing up.
JUSTE SHANI
An independent artist and a true ‘girl boss’, Juste Shani is a rapper with the sensitivity of a dreamer and the mindset of a winner. Her tracks combine powerful messages with catchy bangers, always underpinned by finely crafted lyrics.
On stage, her passion and magnetism captivate the audience, taking her to the biggest venues: L’Olympia as the support act for IAM, festivals such as Solidays, Lollapalooza and Les Ardentes, and even on tour in Chile and Brazil!
In her latest EP, “Diamant Noir”, Juste Shani encourages everyone to turn their flaws into strengths and to shine through their own identity. The powerful message of an artist firmly rooted in her generation.
TOUTÂNKHAMON
A smooth talker, an unpredictable rapper, hyperactive and a procrastinator. Toutânkhamon sets the stage alight at open mics – and elsewhere too. His style is polished, his writing nostalgic, his lyrics socially conscious. With Caen as his backdrop, he explores the scene far and wide – and sometimes off the beaten track. Offering a sharp insight into an unjust reality as well as the hopes of a sensitive generation, his narrative oscillates between melancholic moments and biting humour. Inspired by *Caen Rappes-Tu ?!* and then *Calvadojo*, Toutânkhamon is riding the wave of a rich and inspiring local scene. The music unites energies. 2TKH everywhere.
