The British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer overlooks Gold Beach and the mulberry harbour. It was inaugurated on June 6th 2021 and pays tribute to the 22,442 British soldiers who played a vital role in the D-Day Landings and Battle of Normandy. The leafy 18ha site also pays its respects to the Normandy civilians who lost their lives during the aerial bombings. Guided tours: learn everything there is to know about the site, from its unique layout to the meaning behind certain features, the choice of location and the stories behind some of the heroes celebrated here. Book at the Gold Beach visitor centre.
