The association?s flagship project for 2025, the exhibition on the history of Lion-sur-Mer?s Saint-Pierre church, to mark the 120th anniversary of the nave?s consecration in 1905, can be viewed throughout the summer.
In 10 self-supporting panels, the history of the church from its origins to the 20th century is presented through a variety of themes, including its origins, the Romanesque nave, the 11th-century bell tower, the Romanesque capitals, the former parish cemetery, the organ, the stained glass windows?
Linking the history of Normandy to local history, meshing the role of abbots and local residents with that of scholars and architects, presenting the different historical and heritage facets of the building over the centuries - this is the ambition of this exhibition, in an accessible and educational way.
A QR code even allows visitors to hear the organ?s multiple sounds, thanks to musical recordings made in situ.
Free access, daily, in the aisles of Saint-Pierre church
