Five students from Sciences Po Rennes (Caen campus) and ESAM have been working for almost 10 months on the future of the former Caen prison, as part of an innovative inter-school teaching and professionalization program, "la Pépinière des transitions". They carried out their project in collaboration with the collective Les Coutures, Vent d'Ouest & Cie.
From May 14, 6.30pm, they will be holding a restitution in front of the former prison.
In concrete terms, they will be setting up an ephemeral exhibition at the foot of the former Maison d?arrêt, and leading a stroll around various prospective narratives relating to the possible futures of the building, written according to the results of the survey we conducted in November and December 2024 among Caen?s residents (reminder: over 600 respondents). These prospective narratives will be accompanied by visuals that graphically support these imaginations and give shape to various possible futures for this building in the minds of all.
