Exposition Sara Favriau – Scultpures, installations, vidéos

Sara Favriau sculpts wood with great economy of means.
Her solo exhibition at Ferme de Billy brings together works from her Paris studio and a monumental in situ creation, conceived as a sculpture-passerelle. Made from condemned trees, this work is symbolically resuscitated by water and fire.

Sara Favriau questions both the work and its ecosystem, its circularity. She summons up forms, symbols and processes of popular origin, transposing them into a new language. In her sculptures, installations and performances, she brings together objects such as a hut, a pirogue, a bow, a tree and voguing. These elements form a formal and conceptual vocabulary charged with dramaturgy, conveying a poetic mise en acte.

Her work explores the links between past, present and future. She questions the way in which heritage and the discoveries of progress can, when brought into resonance, generate a new singularity.

Sara Favriau is the winner of the Prix des Amis du Palais de Tokyo 2025. She had a solo exhibition at Palais de Tokyo in 2016, followed by a solo show at Château de Chaumont and Independent Brussels in 2017. In 2021-2022, she will carry out a residency for the Royal Commission (RCU) and the Agence Française in Saudi Arabia.

Her work can be found in numerous public collections: Ville de Paris, FRAC Normandie Caen, MAC VAL, Bangkok Art Biennale, among others.
